Pepper Jam Network Is Working For Me

July 1st, 2008

The last few months for affiliate marketing has been touch and go with so many changes. Change is part of business but this is crazy. Now Google is moving to doubleclick. What next ? Well for me my domain registra is raising the cost of my domains from $9.99 to $34.99 a year. Yahoo thanks lots for the 350% increase. I guess Yahoo is trying to fill the holes in the sinking ship with money. So now I need to move 50+ domains. Outch.

One good change in june was the introduction of Pepper Jam. Pepper jam is now working for eBay/ePN. If you’ve been rejected by ePN you can apply to PJ.

Pepper Jam has impressed me big time. I set up 2 sites around the same time with the same items and keywords. One on PJ and one with ePN. From 6/21 to 6/30/08 my PJ account had 500+ clicks and made $100.00. The ePN site show 200 clicks and about the same in commisions, but it looks like ePN didn’t record impressions and clicks proper. I know nothing about tracking, but Pepper Jam show clicks almost in real time. So if anyone has any doubts about trying PJ you should try it. I’m impressed so far.

Setting Up Twitter For The First Time

July 1st, 2008

After hearing about Twitter over and over for the last few months I decided to join.  Since I have been encountering lapses of confusion when I join Social Network Sites like FACEBOOK I have decided to document my experiance with signing up and getting started. As usual the sign up part is easy. If you are signing up Go To MY Twitter and sign up under me NicheMarketer . Now I’m not sure if I signed up under someone or not.

Next step is to get friends from your Email lists. I don’t really have a email list. I need to work on that. So since I have no friends outside the Internet I am going to set up my profile and make sure I have a URL to one of my sites. I’ll use Niche Store Marketer for this example.

So I know have 14 users following me. How who knows. Off to twitter some more.

Google Affiliate Network Moving To DoubleClick

July 1st, 2008

So Google is retiring referrals. This Email came 6/30/08

Thank you for participating in the AdSense Referrals program.
We’re writing to let you know that we will be retiring the AdSense
Referrals program during the last week of August. We appreciate
your patience during this transition and here are some alternative
options to consider:

   * Google Affiliate Network: As part of the integration of
DoubleClick, the DoubleClick Performics Affiliate Network will now
operate as the Google Affiliate Network for advertisers targeting
users located in the United States. Similar to the AdSense
Referrals program, the Google Affiliate Network enables publishers
to apply for advertiser programs and get paid based on
advertiser-defined actions instead of clicks or impressions” And go’s on a little. Read the rest of this entry »

Adding Bookmark Capabilities To Your Website

April 18th, 2008

One thing you will see lots of on the BANS forum is request for help putting a place that visitors can bookmark your site easily. This escaped me for months as well. I have found three of the most common ways of doing this.

The first Bookmark Mod is a mod provided by the PCMan website. You can get the code Here . Once you have the code you need to make 2 changes marked in red. (1)var url=”http://YOURURL“; (2)var title=”PUTYOURSITETITLEHERE“; Once you change the URL and title you can place the code just about anywhere on your site. I like to put it in the footer.php part of the admin area of BANS sites. Read the rest of this entry »

Observations Of The Migration To Ebay Partner Network ePN

April 1st, 2008

All Ebay Affiliates need to move their accounts and obtain Campaign Id numbers for all there links. The company that was handling the Ebay affiliate network is being phased out over the month of April. Ebay is adding a 5% bonus to all conversions for April to give incentive to move to ePN a quickly as possible. Sounds good doesn’t it.
I have finished the move and found it very easy. ePN was to start April 1st but opened up the application process March 31st. As for changing or signing up the first time its pretty simple.
Go to ePN  and fill in basic information. Like user Name,Password,Website URL Name address. Typical stuff.
After you’ve done that click apply and you will be sent a Email confirming your application. Click on the link and you are taken to the confirmation page. Simply click confirm. You are then prompted to sign in.
The first thing you need to do is change the name of you default Campaign in your Campaign List to the name of that site. Read the rest of this entry »
