Observations Of The Migration To Ebay Partner Network ePN

April 1st, 2008 | by admin |

All Ebay Affiliates need to move their accounts and obtain Campaign Id numbers for all there links. The company that was handling the Ebay affiliate network is being phased out over the month of April. Ebay is adding a 5% bonus to all conversions for April to give incentive to move to ePN a quickly as possible. Sounds good doesn’t it.
I have finished the move and found it very easy. ePN was to start April 1st but opened up the application process March 31st. As for changing or signing up the first time its pretty simple.
Go to ePN  and fill in basic information. Like user Name,Password,Website URL Name address. Typical stuff.
After you’ve done that click apply and you will be sent a Email confirming your application. Click on the link and you are taken to the confirmation page. Simply click confirm. You are then prompted to sign in.
The first thing you need to do is change the name of you default Campaign in your Campaign List to the name of that site.
It is very important that users enter a web site URL during the sign up. Delays have been reported for those not entering a URL. CJ was the same way. They need to make sure users are legitimate and not entering a URL will flag accounts for review. If you don’t have a site yet it’s a good idea to set up a blog at blogger.com , Wordpress.com or Wordpress.org (blogger and wordpress.org are free but have restrictions). These sites are fast and easy to set up. So assuming your account was approved and you confirmed it you can then go to your account/Payment Information and choose from two option, Direct depost or PayPal payment. It is still unknown at this end if a check will ever be a option, or even if they will charge partners for the transactions. Most bank charge for wire transfers or direct deposit and Paypal certainly dose.

Before ePN will send a Payment users must fill out the online W9 Tax form and submit it. When doing this users need to insure they enter there Tax or SS number. If a user is a DBA or LLC that information should be inputted at this point. Once you have submitted your payment and tax information the user recieves another Email stating “Your Name, Since you are a super user of your eBay Partner Network Account, we are notifying you that your payment information has been changed” This simply means that the Email recipient is the main user on the account.
At this point the user can start using campaign Id’s. New users can start placing ads at this point for there default site/page.
Users coming in the migration from commission Junction need to change there PID #s to the new campaign # for there sites/pages/ads. It is strongly suggested that migrating user check there web sites for compliance with all code of conduct and user term before changing Id’s. ePN states that any violation will result in not getting paid for conversions.
There are also some important pages users should bookmark, EBay Sign Up .Users need a Ebay account to post questions in the forum . No need to give a credit card number at this point, but it is recommended you buy some cheap stuff to raise feedback score. You can only post 10 times until the FB Score go’s up to 10? The ePN Blog and Partner Network Help Pages have relevant topics.

Good Luck and Keep Coming Back. This and other relevant issues are our daily topics
